Top 10 Dirtiest Cities of India

The disgraceful sanitary standards of these cities, and for that matter, of all major Indian cities, are a serious health threat, if one keeps in mind that half of Indian population will be living in urban areas by 2030, as per many studies. To accommodate this huge migrating population, we would need to build at least 500 more cities and also clean up the already exists urban squalor. Otherwise, the whole of India could end up looking like outskirts of cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

This ranking is a biennial (every two years) exercise and the second report is due in 2012. Hopefully, the 2012 report would show Indian cities in better light.
