Desert Dust Reduces River Flow, Says New Study

Dark-colored dust that settles on snow in the Upper Colorado River Basin robs the Colorado River of about five percent of its water each year, according to a new study co-authored by NSIDC (National Snow and Ice Data Center) researcher Jeffrey Deems.
